Thank you for supporting CCSAC’s Walk for the Centre 2022!

Promoting Food Security in Central Ottawa!

Thanks to everyone who supported this year’s walkathon for the Centretown Emergency Food Centre. A special thanks to those who turned out on October 2nd to raise awareness of the food insecurity facing many people in central Ottawa.

Our traditional in-person walk returned to central Ottawa after two years of virtual walkathons. This year, in beautiful sunshine, we welcomed teams at City Hall and made our way along Queen Elizabeth Drive pathway and the beautiful Rideau Canal.

We were pleased to show that Ottawans care about food security for all. Over 200 people came together on October 2nd to support this year’s walkathon including Ottawa Centre MP Yasir Naqvi and Ottawa Centre MPP, Joel Harden. Thanks to all our donors, walkers, sponsors and business partners for helping us raise over $36,000.00 for the Centretown Emergency Food Centre.

A special thank you to the Sons of Scotland who led us out of City Hall to the rousing sound of the pipes and drums
