Uniting Christians of all denominations through joint participation in social projects and prayer.

Serving the citizens of Ottawa since 1967

We make a living by what we get, but a life by what we give.

Together in Person in 2022!

Our traditional walk around Parliament Hill will return to an in-person format in 2022. A virtual option will be available for those who wish to walk on their own, but we hope to welcome teams at City Hall for a traditional walk, rain or shine! Plan to join us on October 2nd. We will be walking together for food security in central Ottawa. As always, all donations will go to the Centretown Emergency Food Centre.

Thanks to all our donors, walkers and business sponsors for helping us raise over $37,000 in 2021 for the Centretown Emergency Food Centre as well as helping us highlight the food insecurity facing many people in central Ottawa.

What is a Virtual Walkathon?2021-07-28T21:49:09-03:00

We are still walking this year… but some aspects of our Walkathon will be online again this year.

We will have virtual teams on our ‘Walk For The Centre’ webpage, but we will walk together in spirit only – there won’t be a physical walk together downtown as we usually do. Each participant will walk 2km or 4km anytime between 1-4pm on October 3, in your neighbourhood, favourite trail, or anywhere you’d like to!

Do you accept cash and cheques?2021-07-28T21:54:09-03:00

We’ll take your cash and cheques too!

The Pledge Form can be used to collect funds for the walkathon by cash or cheques.  Cheques are preferred over cash this year.  For a drop-off location, talk to your CCSAC representative or email us at  Be sure to get donors’ and sponsors’ mail and/or email information so we can send a tax receipt.

Alternatively, you can send cheques to CCSAC, 507 Bank Street, Ottawa K2P 1Z5.

How do I get a tax receipt during COVID-19?2021-07-28T21:57:47-03:00

For online donations – CanadaHelps automatically issues a tax receipt.

For donations by cash or cheque – CCSAC, a registered charity, will issue charitable receipts for any donation of $20 or more.  Upon request, we will issue a charitable receipt for lesser amounts.  We will need your sponsor’s email or mailing address in order to send them a tax receipt, so make sure they fill in the Pledge Form.

A reminder that it is easiest to collect donations immediately from your sponsors when you sign them up, rather than trying to chase them down again after the walk.

Where do I walk on Sunday, October 3?2021-07-28T21:58:17-03:00

Up to you!  You are free to walk anywhere you choose on October 3th.

Can I collect donations of food or toiletries?2021-07-28T21:58:48-03:00

Thank you for considering this but, because of COVID-19, the Food Centre is not collecting food or toiletry donations at the moment.
