CCSAC was pleased to welcome Dr. Muhammad Suliman, Imam of the Centretown Mosque, as its guest speaker in January. Dr. Suliman spoke about charity, which holds an important place in Islamic teachings, emphasizing compassion, community support and the moral obligation to assist those in need. Before coming to Ottawa, Dr. Suliman held various positions as imam and chaplain at institutions in Mississauga and the United States.
The Centretown Mosque recently moved to 397 Kent Street where it offers services and programs including an Islamic education program for children aged 6 to 16. More information about the Mosque can be found at https://centretownmosque.ca.
